[ ]Camp
A secluded clearing under the full moon next to a simple pond. There are a few tents set up, a merchant and his son willing to sell you goods and offer enchantments on your weapons, and a pit where a cozy flame is always burning. It is here where you and your companions may rest for the eve and put your worries aside for a brief moment.

[ ]The Fade (1 sub-board)
The Fade is a metaphysical realm that is part of Thedas yet separated by the Veil. The Fade is split up into fiefs belonging to the spirits that live there, and they change the landscape of the Fade to emulate what they see in the minds of mortal dreamers. According to the Chantry, the Fade is the first realm created by the Maker, which he populated with the spirits, the first of his creations. Every living being, with the exception of dwarves, enters the Fade mentally when they dream and mages tap into it when they cast spells. Most people do not remember their time in the Fade, mages however, are forced to recall. Killing a mortal dreaming in the Fade is a shock to their living bodies, but not lethal. The person merely wakes up. Mortals have entered the Fade physically only once, which caused the First Blight. Mages of the Circle frequently visit the Fade with the aid of lyrium and during their Harrowing, a mage is projected into the Fade to resist the attack of a demon.

[ ]Lothering
Lothering was a village north of Ostagar, located on The West Road. Historically, Lothering was little more than a trading post serving the fortress of Ostagar. It was, until very recently, the home of many refugees escaping the Darkspawn horde approaching from the Korcari Wilds until it was over-run and destroyed.

[ ]Highever
Situated on the north coast of Ferelden, Highever is the ancestral home of the Couslands. The heraldic device of Highever is a laurel wreath, which resembles two white wings. Castle Highever has existed since the Divine Age, making it somewhere around 800 - 850 years old. Originally an outpost of the then-expanding Amaranthine Bannorn, it was ruled by the Elstan family, cousins of the Howe noble family. During the Tower Age (approximately 300 years later), however, Bann Conobar Elstan was allegedly murdered by his wife, Flemeth, which ended the bloodline. Conobar's Captain of the Guard, Sarim Cousland, acquired land and title, which the Cousland family has controlled ever since.

[ ]Gwaren
Gwaren is a major, but remote town in Ferelden, described as being a "rough town full of loggers and fishermen". Loghain is the appointed Teyrn and it is one of the last two Teyrns in Ferelden, the other being Highever. Its heraldic device is a green wyvern. During the rebellion against the Orlesian usurper Meghren, more than thirty years before the events in Dragon Age: Origins, Gwaren was retaken by the rebel army, which was led by King Maric Theirin. Afterwards, it became the rebel headquarters. Yet, after the rebel’s disastrous attack on West Hill they retreated there and the usurper laid siege to the town. Sometime later, Maric returned to Gwaren through the Deep Roads though rumor said that he had risen from the dead. Upon hearing about Maric's return and believing the rumor, the townspeople rose in open rebellion against the usurper. The combined strength of the townspeople and Maric's forces were enough to defeat the usurper's forces, though not before half of the town's population were slain and the town set ablaze. After the war, Maric made Loghain Teyrn of Gwaren.

[ ]Ostagar (1 sub-board)
Representing the furthest point of encroachment by the ancient Tevinter Imperium into the barbarian lands of the southeast, the fortress of Ostagar was once one of the most important defensive Imperial holdings south of the Waking Sea. It stood at the edge of the Korcari Wilds and watched for any signs of invasion by the barbarians today known as the Chasind Wilders. Straddling a narrow pass in the hills, the fortress needed to be by passed in order for the Wilders to reach the fertile lowlands of the north and proved to be exceedingly difficult for the Wilders to attack due to its naturally defensible position. Like most other Imperial holdings in the south, Ostagar was abandoned after Tevinter's collapse during the First Blight. It was successfully sacked by the Chasind Wilders and then, as the Chasind threat dwindled following the creation of the modern nation of Ferelden, fell to ruin completely.

[ ]Redcliffe (1 sub-board)
Sitting on the western shore of Lake Calenhad, the village of Redcliffe is so named for the reddish hues of the cliffs that tower above it. A path leads up into the hills and across a bridge to an island where the ancient Castle Redcliffe has stood far longer than the village itself. Redcliffe is located in the western hills of Ferelden. It once served as a strategic point between Orzammar and Ferelden when the humans of Ferelden feared dwarven invasion. The village around the castle grew and until the arling was as much a powerful settlement as anything ruled by a bann or a teyrn. The heraldric symbol for Redcliffe is a tower on a red cliff.

[ ]Denerim (5 sub-boards)
Denerim is the capital of Ferelden. Denerim was the teyrnir of the king, but since the king's domain is supposed to be all of Ferelden, it has been reduced to an arling. Home of both nobility and the common people. This sprawling city has much to offer the adventurer; with its market place, magic shops, armorers and bordellos. However, one cannot let one's eye rest on a single place for too long, lest a back alley brawler or elf from the Alienage cut one's purse strings... or one's throat.

[ ]Orzammar (4 sub-boards)
History tells us that the dwarven kingdoms once spread across all of Thedas, and that the underground city–fortresses called thaigs were almost beyond counting. Kal–Sharok was the capital then, home to all the noble houses, and Orzammar was simply the home of the miner and smith castes. It is an awe–inspiring sight, a great city of stone standing within a vast cavern, poised over a sea of molten lava. There the forges ring loudest, and the finest smiths create works that are the envy of all races. Countless thaigs were lost in the first Blight, when the darkspawn poured out of the Deep Roads like smoke. With each generation, more of the Deep Roads had to be sealed, more thaigs lost forever. Now only Orzammar stands—the last bastion of the dwarven race and its finest creation.

[ ]The Deep Roads (1 sub-board)
The Deep Roads are the network of underground roads that once belonged to the dwarven kingdom. Many people of Ferelden thought these roads lost to time, but a large number of them still exist. The dwarves closed the Deep Roads off when they fell to the darkspawn during First Blight. The entrances still exist, but are all sealed by octagonal steel doors decorated with geometric patterns that may form words or patterns. The entrance at the dwarven city of Orzammar is also sealed, though the gate is opened on occasion to allow members of the Legion of The Dead into the Deep Roads, where they spend their last days fighting the Darkspawn.

[ ]The Frostback Mountains (2 sub-boards)
The Frostback mountains at large are a towering range of mountains that form Ferelden's natural western border with Orlais. Almost as inhospitable as the Korcari Wilds, the Frostbacks house the native Avvar tribes, as well as the villages of Haven and Honnleath; and the Dwarven city of Orzammar.

Thedas
[ ]Orlais (1 sub-board)
Orlais, or the Orlesian Empire, is currently the most powerful nation in Thedas. Val Royeaux is the capital of Orlais, and home to the Chantry. Orlais is ruled by Empress Celene I. Amongst its previous rulers were Emperor Reville and Emperor Florian. It was founded by the Emperor Kordillus Drakon, the man who established the Chantry. A century ago, Orlais conquered Ferelden, but was repulsed 30 years ago by King Maric.

[ ]Antiva
Its capital is Antiva City, which lies on in the middle of its coastline. The line of kings in Antiva has remained unbroken for two and a half thousand years. In truth, however, the nation is ruled by a collection of merchant princes such as heads of banks, trading companies, and vineyards. As Antiva is well-known to be good at everything but fighting, it is ironic that the world's deadliest assassins, the Crows of Antiva, originate here. No general would be mad enough to lead an attack on the Antivan borders, for while they would surely succeed due to the fact Antiva has no standing army, the general would likely be assassinated by the Crows.

[ ]The Tevinter Imperium
The Tevinter Imperium is a nation in Thedas once ruled by a powerful magocracy. The leaders of the Imperium were called “Magisters” and were led by the Imperial Archon. The Tevinter Imperium worshipped the Old Gods, and supposedly the Old Gods taught the Magisters their magic. According to the Chantry, it was at their beckoning that the Magisters attempted to usurp the Maker's throne by entering the Golden City of the Maker, which corrupted it and led to the First Blight. The Tevinter Imperium suffered the brunt of the first Blight and subsequently was toppled; it is now only a shadow of its former self in size and power. Previous to the first Blight, the Imperium conquered Elvhenan, the elven homeland, and enslaved its people. It is still legal for elves to be sold into slavery in Tevinter and many elves choose to sell themselves into slavery to provide for their families. Its capital is Minrathous. The Imperium has its own version of the Chantry led by a male Divine.

[ ]The Anderfels
The Anderfels is a nation of Thedas. It is far distant from Ferelden and it houses the headquarters of the Grey Wardens, Weisshaupt Fortress.[1] The people of the Anderfels are known as Anders and they were the first people to fight the darkspawn. The capital city of the Anderfels is Hossberg, in the northwest of the nation.
00
[ ]Nevarra
Nevarra is a nation of Thedas. It was originally one of the larger Free Marches city states, but has aggressively expanded over the last two centuries to become a power to rival Orlais. Unlike most other followers of Andraste, the Nevarrans do not burn their dead. Instead, they carefully preserve the bodies and seal them in elaborate tombs. Some of the wealthiest Nevarrans begin construction of their own tombs while quite young, and these become incredible palaces, complete with gardens, bathhouses, and ballrooms, utterly silent, kept only for the dead.
00
[ ]Par Vollen
Par Vollen is the homeland of the qunari. It is a tropical island chain, which covered mostly by rainforest and is far north of Ferelden. Par Vollen was occupied by the qunari when they landed there 300 years ago. Almost immediately they went to war with the rest of Thedas. Peace was obtained 150 years later however, but tensions still remain high between the qunari and the rest of Thedas. As a result, most people tend to fear and distrust any qunari with whom they meet. The only known inhabitants of Par Vollen are the qunari. No outsiders are ever permitted to visit its shores.

[ ]Rivain
The nation of Rivain is located in the northern parts of Thedas. Its capital city is Dairsmuid, which is on in the southern end of the Rivain peninsula. Its dark-skinned humans, the Rivaini, have a peaceful relationship with the elves. The city of Llomerryn is known to have a semi-permanent Dalish encampment on its outskirts. The qunari settlement of Kont-aar is in northern Rivain. Unlike the majority of peoples in Thedas, the Rivaini are not Andrastians and don't believe in the Maker. Rather, they are pantheists who believe in the Natural Order. Many, especially in Kont-aar, have also converted to the Qun, as their religion and the Qun are not very contradictory.

[ ]The Free Marches (4 sub-boards)
The Free Marches is a collective name given to the group of city-states situated in eastern Thedas, south of Antiva and the Tevinter Imperium, east of Nevarra, and north of Ferelden.

During the Fifth Blight, many Fereldan refugees fled to the Free Marches, which is known as the breadbasket of Thedas.

Dragon Age Origins: Before the Awakening:
Grey Wardens,

There have been reports of more Darkspawn appearing in other parts of Thedas. We need to recruit more to our order in order to quell these attacks.
There are fears that this may become another Blight. With so litle time passing since the last, we fear that Fereldan may perish.

In war, victory
In peace, vigilance
In death, sacrifice

During the first year of the Steel Age, a group of six murderers are found guilty of several mass slaughters and are decapitated for their crimes. What the public didn't know was they weren't killed - this group of individuals are considered immortal. Instead, they are kept locked up deep beneath the Tevinter Imperium's dungeons, in six spaced-out cells.

Fast forward to the first year after the Blight of the Dragon Age. The repercussions from the Archdemon's rising caused the cell gates to become loose, enabling these men and women to escape back into the world.

If someone sees these people, DO NOT engage them in any way. These murderers are monsters and have killed thousands of innocent people each. If you see them, call on your Arl's soldiers to chase them away.

Alistair - Head of Fereldan Grey Wardens [Not a King]
Zevran - Recruiting Grey Wardens [Not a Grey Warden]
Oghren - Training to be a Grey Warden
